Choosing The Right Pair
-
First, determine how you'll use your compression garment - for work, exercise, recovery, travel, medical purposes, etc. From there you'll be able to pick the style most suitable for your use.
Our Marathon knee-high socks are the most versatile option because they can be used for everything mentioned above and more.
Calf Sleeves are best during high intensity exercise.
For daily drivers, our Lifestyle Crew and ankle socks are great options.
-
For all over-the-calf (knee-high) socks and calf sleeves, your size is based primarily on your calf measurement around its widest point. Use shoe size as your secondary reference point.
If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up unless you want a tighter fit, in which case, size down.
For crew length and ankle socks, your size is based on your shoe size only.
-
Compression socks increase blood circulation which helps to rebuild broken down soft tissue. There are many benefits to wearing compression socks, including:
- Reducing swelling, muscle aches and soreness in the legs and feet
- Helps you feel more energized
- Reduces your overall recovery time after exercise or being up on your feet for extended periods of time
Compression socks can help you perform better, whether you're out training or at work, and can help improve your recovery at the end of the day. This article gives a great in-depth explanation of all the benefits of wearing compression socks.
-
We always recommend that you speak with your doctor before trying compression socks. They may recommend a specific compression level for you.
Many new compression wearers start with our best-selling Marathon knee-high compression sock. This sock offers moderate compression with a level of 20-30 mmHg.
We carry one style with a higher compression rating than the Marathon as well as options that offer less compression.
- Marathon Recovery: 25-35 mmHg
- PC Dress: 10-25 mmHg
-
Compression socks are designed to fit tighter than your average sock. They can be challenging to get on, but we have a video on how to best care for your PRO Compression socks and sleeves.
IMPORTANT: Pulling on your socks too forcefully can damage the socks. Please follow the instructions.
Note: All of our socks have an underlying base compression thread in either black or white coloring. This material will become more visible as the sock is stretched and this is normal.
-
Yes! We offer a wide-calf size option for some of our Marathon knee-high socks and calf sleeves.
Product Information
-
Graduated compression socks exert the greatest degree of compression at the ankle and the level of compression gradually decreases up the socks. This forces the blood to move upwards, back to the heart.
-
We recommend washing your compression socks and sleeves in cold water and leaving them out to air dry.
We advise against using warm/hot water or a dryer as these may result in shrinkage. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach detergents to maintain the quality and longevity of your compression socks and sleeves.
-
All of our socks and sleeves are designed in California. While a majority of our socks are made in the USA, some are made by partners overseas.
Individual product pages will show where that specific item was made.
-
A majority of our compression socks and sleeves are made from proprietary blends of nylon, polyester and spandex.
-
None of our products contain latex, BPA, or PFAS (forever chemicals).
-
Variations from sock to sock are normal and are due to a number of factors. Read on for an explanation, but rest assured this is normal and does not in any way compromise the integrity or performance of your socks.
Socks that are the same size may appear to be different in length when compared side by side. This is due to differences in thread patterns, color of thread used, or thread direction. What is important is that when worn, the socks will fit as intended.
Another difference is that some socks may 'feel tighter' than others. This again is due to the same thread variations listed above. Socks are tested and certified to be within stated compression ranges.
In both instances, after washing and wearing several times, our socks generally start to settle into their final shape, fit and feel.
Some of our newer styles have their designs printed rather than sewn in which results in a different texture and fit when initially handled and worn. Again, washing and wearing will help break them in and they will begin to feel like all of our other socks. NOTE: Socks made via this innovative new printing method have it stated in their respective product descriptions.
