Rachel is one of several PRO Ambassadors who ran the 2017 Boston Marathon. She was kind enough to share a few thoughts about her experience running Boston, her passion and goals.
What do you love most about running?
I love that it is a completely individual sport and I answer only to myself. It is about you in the moment of every step. It can turn out just the way you image or it could be the hardest, most difficult run you've ever had. Running is never perfect but the more miles you log, the better and stronger you become. And it's amazing how much you learn about yourself and what your body and mind are capable of.
If you had to race one distance, what would it be?
I appreciate the marathon. It takes strength, courage and a lot of guts to go out and run 26.2 miles.
What is your favorite race and why?
Boston is my favorite race because the city is filled with a million people who run and support runners. The excitement about the race was all I expected it to be and then some. You will never find another race where the spectators, volunteers, family, friends, and runners are so proud and honored to be there.
It was 26.2 miles of pure happiness and encouragement to run your best race. I cherished every step I took from Hopkington to Boston and already can't wait to do it all again next year!
Any goals you’d like to share with us?
I would love to become a sub 3:15 marathoner.
Why did you want to become a PRO Compression Ambassador?
I wanted to be a PRO ambassador because I loved the socks. From the first pair I owned, they literally changed my entire running experience. I wear them every race because they give me the support I need and feel better when I wear them.
I wanted to represent PRO Compression because they made such a difference in my running, from support to faster recovery...they are awesome. I love them and tell anyone interested in compression socks about them. It is a great company and they treat us so well. I am grateful to be a part of the crew.
Our favorite question...socks or sleeves and what's your favorite design?
Heather Grey Marathon socks! They are SO incredibly comfortable!
